Heartless - Marissa Meyer

Heartless is a prequel of sorts to Alice in Wonderland. It is a very loose prequel that takes place in Wonderland but without the same plot or all the same characters. Heartless more than anything else is a love story. Lady Catherine wants nothing more than to open a baking store and wants to become the best baker in all of Hearts. Unfortunately, for Lady Catherine her parents find this profession inappropriate but because the King of Hearts loves her baked goods so much they let her continue. The King loves Catherine and wants to make her his queen but when a young man shows up, a man Catherine has been dreaming about she must resist falling in love with him even though she is drawn to him.
